I bought my fiancée’s bespoke engagement ring from Craven Jewellers having spent a considerable amount of time shopping around as it is a big decision and expense. The service was first class from the minute I walked through the door to collection of the ring and that has continued with the after service. As opposed to other jewellers I visited there was no hard sell, instead Malcolm, the owner, took time to explain to me all about diamonds and how to choose the right one which would be right for my fiancée. He was extremely helpful answering questions, giving me great advice and providing various options for different budgets. His expertise when we sat down to design the ring with my fiancée was second to none, it's clear he is really passionate about what he does and this can also be said of the other staff members I dealt with, nothing ever seemed too much trouble despite at times I must have been a trouble customer!!! When we came in to the shop to collect the ring they really pulled out all the stops to make it a special day and one we will both remember. The biggest compliment I can give to Craven Jewellers is we will be returning to buy our wedding rings; I've recommended them to a close family friend and will continue to sing their praises to anyone who asks.
Thank you Craven Jewellers for making what could have been a stressful experience a real pleasure and education.

We met Craven at a wedding fayre and after discussing our wedding rings with them we were left very impressed. We booked an appointment to look at wedding rings. At the appointment they matched up our engagement ring with what we would consider the perfect wedding ring as well as the Grooms ring who had very specific requirements! What we like about the rings are they are reflective of our personalities and this to be honest wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance and support of Cravens top rate staff who we still remain in touch with to this day looking after our rings. Just before our wedding, they asked to give our engagement ring a clean for the wedding day which was a lovely extra and the excellent customer service along with their fair prices and high quality product is why we have recommended Craven to a number of friends who have all been very satisfied.

Cravens has a very professional and polished customer service. I felt very welcome as a customer. They listened to what I wanted and made my ring with about 5 weeks notice – I was very impressed. I would certainly recommend my family and friends to go there and I will be back soon I hope. Thanks, Claire xx

The service we received from Cravens was second to none. They showed us examples of female rings, that matched the description that Leanne was after and once chosen worked with us to fit our budget. For John, he wasn’t sure what ring he wanted, if at all, so Malcolm shared various designs, and materials, explaining the benefits and challenges of each. Communication was brilliant when making the rings and when we went to pick them up, unfortunately Johns was too big. This was no trouble, as Malcolm fixed this in a timely manner. All the staff at Cravens were so friendly and helpful, we felt really special. They were recommended to us by a friend. We bumped into a friend whilst we was in the shop and I have recommended them to others also; brilliant service obviously has helped to make Craven’s known in Harrogate, which has plenty of high calibre jewellers. Thank you so much, Leanne and John

From the moment I walked into Craven Jewellers I was welcomed with warm smiling faces, As the typical male I really had little idea about engagement rings or diamonds. Hours of googling told me I needed to ask about the 4C's, further research expanded to the 7C's but talking to male friends the conversation only ever turned into double D's.

With a confused look on my face, Malcolm welcomed me into an upstairs balcony area. I was quickly offered a drink while we began to discuss my requirements and budget. Malcolm quickly produced a range of settings and diamonds and despite the rumours I've heard in the past, I soon realised that size doesn't always matter...well not in the diamond world. If anything I was now even more confused, would my soon to be better half prefer a smaller, better cut diamond or should I sacrifice on cut, colour and clarity and focus on carat?

Malcolm and I then began to discuss the engagement. My plan was to propose on holiday, however that brings its own challenges. How do you sneak an engagement ring on a plane without it being found? An engagement ring is not often a small amount of money to most and our journey involved three plane transfers before arriving at our destination. Did I want to risk hiding something so precious in a suitcase and risk it not arriving at the other end? Would security expose my secret passing through the airport? At this point Anne, Sam and Joanne relaxed me with their tales of other men in my situation. I really got the feeling they had seen it all and come up with every solution there was. It was a relaxed and casual atmosphere that turned into stories of hiding rings in socks and ‘other’ areas to keep them from being found during the proposal. Before I knew it we had a plan, a smaller token ring to take on our holiday was purchased and an appointment booked for as soon as we arrived home.

One thing I really liked about Craven was that they are not just buying settings in and letting you pick what they have in the window, but they have a wide selection of ones they’ve made. Our return appointment was to create our own custom made piece of our future, a bespoke item designed to our exact specification. The holiday went to plan, the ring arrived and the proposal went without a hitch, she even said yes! As we sat enjoying a cocktail or two in the sun my new fiancée and I mentally designed the ring we wanted. Confidently I told her about cut, colour and GIA certificates, really just repeating the knowledge Malcolm had imprinted in my mind at our earlier meeting, however I’m sure she still believes to this day that I am now an expert in diamonds.

Back in the UK we headed to Craven Jewellers together this time, and again had a warm greeting waiting for us. Arriving this time as friends we walked in to congratulations and even an engagement card from Malcolm, Anne and the team. These little touches really show how the team there go above and beyond expectations.

Drinks were offered and we sat down to discuss what we wanted. I had mentioned at my last visit that I thought a princess cut diamond was what we would be looking at and once we arrived Malcolm had examples of loose diamonds waiting for us. Instantly Victoria’s eyes were drawn to the colourless D grade of diamond over a larger similarly priced diamond, thus proving earlier the earlier point that with diamonds size is not the only thing that matters. Settings was next on the agenda where once again our knowledge was expanded with comprehensive descriptions of different metals – not only colour but with strength and durability being discussed. Finally, something that I had totally overlooked was how would our new ring sit with a wedding band?

We came away feeling we had a fantastic experience, at no point did we feel rushed or hurried into making decisions, and felt that every step of the way the entire team at Craven Jewellers took the time to listen to what we wanted and suggested ideas that we may have missed.

When our ring was made up and ready we could not have been happier, an exceptional item of jewellery that will last the test of time. We will most certainly be back in the not too distant future.

Well done to the team at Craven Jewellers. Above and beyond all expectations.

Kind regards

Daniel and Victoria
